About
Wawu Warriors of Fitness name was created from my connection to being a Christian and a First Nation Woman.
I am a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spirited woman which is what Wawu means in the Kuku Yalanji language of which I have a connection to through my maternal grandmother.
Warriors are known for their fighting spirit, protecting family and strength in mind and body which we at the Wawu Warriors of Fitness community endeavour to achieve through our classes, and challenge programs hence our slogan Spirit (within the warrior), Family (people first) Strength (fitness in mind and body follows).
People First. Fitness Follows.
Most people who make resolutions to lose weight or adopt a better lifestyle rarely stick to them. They can pay for a gym membership, put on the appropriate attire, follow the appropriate Instagram users, or play “Eye of the Tiger” nonstop, but without this ONE essential component, they will fail. We require coaches and friends to lead, inspire, and support us if we are to genuinely follow through on attaining our goals. Without it, people lose motivation and give up on the road. We have all witnessed it countless times. At Wawu Warriors of Fitness, you’ll discover a supportive community of individuals who are invested in your fitness journey right away. You’ll come across a family.
